Asked if they prepared for the film by boarding Disneyland’s classic boat ride over and over, Blunt fired the first shot.

“He gets motion sickness, so that wasn’t part of the prep,” she cracked about her costar.

“That is horrible,” an embarrassed Blunt lamented as Johnson laughed. “Oh God, you just made me blush. … I don’t do that, at all!”

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra and costarring Jesse Plemons and Paul Giamatti, Jungle Cruise follows a group of travelers on a riverboat where they encounter not only dangerous exotic animals, but a mysterious supernatural element as well.

The film is Disney’s latest attempt at replicating the blockbuster success of the Pirates of the Caribbean series, which was also based on one of the Magic Kingdom’s most famous attractions.

“Just to be transported to this incredible world and that sense of travel and adventure and just a rich tapestry for audiences to escape to,” Blunt said. “And it’s based on a ride, which just has oodles of nostalgia and so much to kind of mine for us creatively, so it was very cool.”

Jungle Cruise opens July 24, 2020.
